I would be grateful to receive a copy of the London Mayors current Strategy /policy documents and or statements towards the keeping or closing of all TFL/LUL and National Rail ticket offices in the Greater London area.
As you will be aware the previous Mayor signed an agreement with the Train Operating Companies to enable passengers (within a reasonable timescale) to use the Oyster Pay As you Go smart card throughout the Greater London Area. He also agreed to an additional agreement to accept and install the equipment required by the new National Rail smart cards currently under development by the Integrated Ticketing and Smart Card Organisation ITSO..
Please therefore confirm the estimated or promised date when ITSO equipment will be introduced on TFL/LUL and National Rail stations in the Greater London Area?
Please confirm that the new ITSO ticket office equipment when commissioned will allow passengers to purchase tickets at all London Ticket Offices ( including London Underground, National Rail and London Overground) to all destinations in the UK.
Please supply any relevant correspondence with the Commission for Integrated Transport .London Travelwatch,Department for Transportor other relevant body to show that passengers will benefit from a National Smartcard system that can be purchased at any staffed station to travel anywhere in the UK.
